These Water Buffalo flat skins are great for congas and other Latin Drums. 

99% of the brand name imported congas such as LP, Toca, Pearl, Meinl, and Tycoon use Water Buffalo, which is also referred to as true-skin, rawhide, or just buffalo. Water Buffalo is a little more yellow in color than steer skin, and often translucent. The sound is brighter than steer: perfect for contemporary salsa sound with high tunings and cracking slaps. They can also be tuned low for surprising warmth and projection.
